Sleeping in one place for several days becomes living.
An intimate space is created, which is in relation to its surroundings. A longer stay allows to explore areas and places intensively and in many different ways.
Since April 2016, the artist has been living deliberately without a permanent home or workplace. In addition to developing and documenting her nomadic lifestyle, she sees sleeping and living as a performative practice to experience spaces and social conditions as comprehensively as possible.
This knowledge creates the basis for further site-related works - photographs, objects, installations or interventions.
During her exhibition - Hanna Burkart is at home - the gallery is "inhabited" by the artist away from regular opening hours. She invites you to stay with her to collectively create the content of the space. The objects she has selected and created build the framework of her setting, which serves to make longer stays possible and stimulate discussions.
